A cool thing, though, is that if you use the Google+ badge on your site, you can +1 your post (which you should do anyway for all of your posts, right?) which then allows you to share the post on your wall. It’s an extra step, but it makes it easy for you to easily share your latest post on your Google+ page.
An important point, though, is that this doesn’t work for business pages. In my testing, you can only share a post on your main page, not on business pages. If anyone else, has insight, though, on how this works, I would love to hear from you.

IF you could figure out how to share this to a business page from a business blog it would be very useful for local SEO.

I agree completely. At some point, I’m sure Google will open up the API, but until then (or until we figure out a workaround), we’ll have to continue posting manually to our Google+ business pages.
